ASIS Chapter 067 - "Managing life threatening risks one chapter at a time!"

ASIS Chapter 067 - What about us?  We're located in Madison Wisconsin in the heart of the USA, at the grassroots of the business community and on the frontlines of ASIS International, a global association of security professionals focused on safeguarding our homeland.

Our missions include pursuing continuing education and professional certifications, forming public-to-private homeland security partnerships, and acting as a liaison between law enforcement, emergency government, and fire fighters, and our private sector business community.

The terrorist attacks of 9-11-01, Hurricane Katrina, Stoughton area tornados, the car pile-up on Interstate 90, wildfires, floods, sub-zero power outages, increased violence in our schools, scam artists and con-men, all underscore the need for ongoing threat assessments, the installation, maintenance, and testing of security systems, training in Incident Command and Control, and the formation of public-to-private homeland security partnerships, and regional Critical Incident Response Teams (CIRTs) throughout the tri-state chapters of ASIS International.  ASIS Chapter 067 is committed to standing guard before, responding during, and supporting the recovery after any large scale community crisis. All members are urged to regularly update their contact information and take part in ASIS continuing educations programs. We ask all members to make a personal commitment to their sponsoring organization and their community to be our liaison to anyone who might find themselves in harms-way. It's easy to keep your membership contact information up to date.

We have many mentors. George Maslow a University of Wisconsin business professor is one who helped us focus on what's most important to those we serve. Chapter 067 works to ensure our community has a strong, safe, and secure local economic infrastructure, we belong to ASIS International to be on the cutting edge of our profession, and to help ensure our business associates have a long and prosperous future.

Chapter officers meet regularly to schedule speakers, arrange critical infrastructure security tours, and plan regional training workshops.

Abraham Maslow (1908 – 1970)

Note to reader: I’ve taken much of Maslow’s biography from a paper written by Dr. C. George Boeree published at web site: http://www.ship.edu/~cgboeree/maslow.html I recommend this site for your studies on Personality Profiles. The blue highlights in this paper are my editorial comments offered to clarify the relationship between Maslow's hierarchy of needs and our road to recovery pyramid. http://www.ship.edu/~cgboeree/maslow.html

Chapter meetings include introductions, a short business meeting, a presentation followed by round-table discussions, and a timely close to ensure we all remain on our daily schedule. Surveys indicate members value most the time we spend discussing common problems and unique solutions, the bonding, contingency planning, and opportunity to form partnerships that may save lives during the next community crisis. Following is a brief introduction to our members. Some have provided links to their web-sites. Please click here and help us complete this log of our membership. Note: This directory will be used to clear members into our private sector EOC during a crisis. It's very important for you to provide a facial shot and standing shot next to a vehicle driver side mirror. Such pictures help us estimate your height and verify your identity.
